A study on Tow-dimensional Localization for Uniform Circular Array using BLE

Abstract(in English) Localization using wireless such as BLE is often performed by assuming the terminal location as a known plane. This is the cause of the position error. To solve this problem, we investigated two-dimensional localization (azimuth and elevation) using a circular array. This makes it possible to position the terminals in three dimensional space and reduce the position error. In addition, as a method for direction of arrival estimation of AoX (AoA or AoD) in BLE, we applied generic MUSIC and a new proposed method for statistical processing of a two-element array selected from circular array elements. We performed simulations and simple verifications on actual equipment for both methods. And clarified the issues for confirming the feasibility and commercialization.
