Abstract(in English) Cell-Free Massive MIMO (CF mMIMO) has gained much attention as one of potential technologies for Beyond 5G (B5G) whereas hybrid analog-digital beamforming (BF) is also essential for B5G to further exploit millimeter wave (mmWave) bands. This paper studies practical access-point-wise analog-beam selection for CF mMIMO systems with hybrid BF over mmWave channels. Computer simulations evaluate the spectral efficiency of the proposed analog beam selection with different digital BF designs and show that the proposed method with the appropriate digital BF provides the comparable performance to one based on convex optimization.
