Emotion estimation by EEG using multidimensional directed coherence and machine learning

Abstract(in English) In this study, we investigated a method of emotion estimation using EEG. Four kinds of emotions were induced by presenting facial expression images, and the EEG was recorded during the emotions. First, the measured EEG applied to multidimensional directed coherence analysis and extract the characteristics of the signal flows and correlations between two electrodes. Next, machine learning methods such as SVM and three-layer fully-combining neural networks were applied to extract additional features and estimate the emotions.
