Interference Coordination in A Cellular Distributed MU-MIMO System

Abstract(in English) A cellular distributed multi-user MIMO (MU-MIMO) divides a wide communication service area into multiple base station cells based on the location information of distributed antennas, forms multiple user clusters in each cell based on the user location information, and performs cluster-wise distributed MU-MIMO in parallel in all clusters using the same radio resource. This system is expected to realize a practical ultra-dense RAN because it can spatially multiplex users with low computational complexity while ensuring the system scalability, but it requires a measure to reduce the intra-cell interference and the inter-cell interference. We have proposed a decentralized integrated interference coordination (IC) framework that reduces both the intra-cell interference and the inter-cell interference. The inter-cell IC employed in this framework is the channel segregation algorithm-based fractional frequency reuse (CS-FFR). In this paper, we propose an integrated IC for cell-edge users suffering strong inter-cell interference and cluster-edge users suffering strong inter-cluster interference within each cell, evaluate the performance of the proposed method by computer simulation, and optimize the IC parameters.
