Abstract(in English) Due to the COVID-19 Disaster, stores have stopped offering product testers,, making it impossible to test the texture of a product before purchasing it.. In this research, we aim to design a package that combines visual and tactile senses so that consumers can imagine the impression of the contents from the appearance without trying the usability of the contents of the product. We conducted a perceptual psychology experiment on hand cream to clarify how the combination of the appearance and touch of the material covering the package and the impression words on the package affect the impression of the product and the degree of purchase. The results showed that the use of fabrics and impression words in package design is effective in improving impression and purchase level and that the effect of expressions in package design differs depending on the hardness of the target cream. Based on these results, we propose a specific package design for hand cream that is likely to improve the impression of the contents and the degree of purchase when a material other than plastic is used for the package.
