Congestion estimation using BLE beacon and its visualization

Abstract(in English) Since the outbreak of COVID-19, the level of congestion in various spaces, including public facilities and restaurants, has been the focus of much attention. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a congestion estimation method that uses the Neural network where the input is RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) emitted from BLE (Bluetooth Low Energy) beacons. In addition, we also propose a system that visualizes the estimated congestion and switches the estimation model based on user feedback. Each estimation model was constructed using the data obtained from multiple data collection experiments, and the evaluation was performed by inputting the collected data for each estimation model. This visualization system was implemented using HTML, CSS and JavaScript based on Django, a Python framework, and we evaluated whether the estimation model was switched accurately.
