Accuracy Improvement of Spot Local 5G Area Maps through Feedback from User Equipment

Abstract(in English) Local 5G has been institutionalized to apply 5th generation mobile communication system (5G) technologies to private networks, and it is expected to expand its utilization in various industrial fields. In order to contribute to the expansion of local 5G utilization, the authors have also researched and developed technologies for public and private networks cooperation and have proposed virtual pre-connection technology and high-speed switching technology between public and private networks using single modem smartphones. However, the high-speed switching technology between public and private networks using single-modem smartphones uses a predefined area map, so it cannot flexibly respond to changes in the coverage area, such as increasing or decreasing the number of base stations. As a result, unnecessary frequency searches may occur in the area where its coverage is diminished. Also, the newly increasing coverage area does not exist on the area map, and the original connection operation will not be performed. In this paper, we propose a method to improve connection accuracy to spot local 5G by detecting changes in the coverage area to the area map from feedback information through user equipment terminals, and confirm its effect by simulation.
