Abstract(in English) | Intelligent Tutoring Systems (ITS) that recommend items are expected to improve learning efficiency by recommendation. However, there is a concern that opportunities for self-regulated learning such as self-reflection and strategic planning might be lost. Therefore, in this study, we tried to develop an ITS that increases learning efficiency based on recommendations and prompts self-regulated learning. The proposed system recommends items by estimating the user's ability and difficulty of the item and prompts self-regulated learning by using self-regulated sheets. The recommender system is based on Math Garden that used Signed Residual Time (SRT) scoring rule and Elo-rating system. The self-regulated sheet is developed by us. It was shown that the learning performances of the participants were imposed to write self-regulated sheets compared to the performances of the control group. This suggests that our intervention does not impair the promoting effects endowed by the recommendation. In addition, we found a marginally significant effect of the intervention on goals that the participants internally minded. As future plans, we propose a way to improve our system and a method to validate it more precisely. |
