Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) An evaluation of demodulation error performance for $M$-point combinatory (MC) parallel transmission (PT) image sensor (IS)-based visible light communication (VLC) is done in this paper. In the MCPT system, $M$ out of the $M_0$ transmitting regions on the transmitter liquid crystal display (LCD) are used, where $M leq M_0$. Since there are $binom{M_0}{M}$ ways in choosing $M$ out of the $M_0$ ones, we map them to $ell= left lfloor log_2 binom{M_0}{M} right rfloor$,bits. According to $ell$,bits, $M$ transmitting regions are chosen for a frame, and then the $M$ chosen ones are used to transmit $M$ discrete signals of the PT system. However, if an unused transmission region is selected for MC demodulation at the receiver side, the bits transmitted in combinations and the bits transmitted by $M$ discrete signals cannot be demodulated. Therefore, it is important to evaluate the tolerance to MC demodulation errors. In this paper, we evaluate the immunity of MC demodulation and PSK demodulation to change lower limit of dynamic range between transmitter and receiver $varepsilon_{mathrm{L}}$. Our experimental results show that $varepsilon_{mathrm{L}}=50$ is the optimal value for MCPT system when the distance between transmitter LCD and receiver camera is 2,m because this value is the most tolerant to PSK demodulation errors without any MC demodulation errors.
