Pareto-based dimensionality reduction of parameters for simple piecewise linear circuits

Abstract(in English) This paper studies dimensionality reduction of parameters in switching power converters. In order to characterize the circuit performance, a bi-objective optimization problem is defined. The first objective characterizes stability of circuit operation and the second objective characterizes efficiency of input power for maximum power tracking. A trade-off exists between the two objectives and is represented by Pareto front. We then present a simple method of the dimensionality reduction of parameters based on approximated Pareto front. The approximation is evaluated by a modified hypervolume indicator. Applying the method to a piecewise linear model of boost converter, the two objectives are calculated exactly and the dimensionality reduction is realized effectively.
