Abstract(in English) | Various object detection schemes utilizing channel state information (CSI) in wireless local area network (WLAN) systems such as IEEE802.11ac have been investigated recently. To obtain further detection performance improvement, adopting a proper feature selection technique and selecting an appropriate antenna placement are important. In this paper, we experimentally evaluate the effect of antenna placement selection on object detectionperformance in WLAN-based object detection systems utilizing channel state information (CSI). We consider a method to select a small number of antenna elements from a number of distributed antennas, and clarify the relationship between the antenna placement and the detection accuracy. We experimentally evaluate the detection performance of the WLAN-based object detection system using measured CSI in cases of various antenna placement patterns. Based on the obtained experimental results, we discuss the impact of the antenna placement on achieved object detection performance in an indoor environment. |
