Abstract(in English) | Accurate time synchronization is required for IoT devices, but NTP and GNSS are limited by power consumption and the communication environment. High-precision crystal oscillators such as TCXOs and OCXOs are used with time synchronization systems to minimize communication and reduce power consumption. However, devices without such an oscillator cannot maintain high-precision time. In addition, it is difficult to implement an additional oscillator. We have proposed a time correction method that exploits the characteristics of clock frequency changes with temperature as a method that does not communicate with the outside world and does not require additional equipment. In previous research, time correction was performed by estimating the time drift from the CPU core temperature based on the frequency-temperature characteristics measured in a thermostatic chamber. However, the correction accuracy was not sufficient. In this study, we propose a highly accurate estimation method by adding an offset value to the time drift estimation formula. Compared with the conventional method, the experimental results show that a time correction accuracy of 39% or better is achieved. |
