Immunity Evaluation against Electrostatic Artifact on Capacitive Electrocardiogram Using Low-Birth-Weight Infant Model

Abstract(in English) In capacitive electrocardiogram (cECG) measurement, contamination of transient electrostatic artifact (TEA) is problematic. We investigated effects of introducing driven ground (D.G.) into sheeting electrodes on suppressing TEA. We made six different electrodes with 5 or 7 layers, set up a physical model of cECG measurement using a mockup of low-birth-weight infant, and incurred TEA by footsteps. We calculated superimposed artifact ratio (SAR) by dividing artifact amplitude on cECG signal by incurred electrostatic voltage, then compared SAR among the six electrodes. Results revealed significantly small SAR (4.2%) when the 7-layered configuration with D.G. to the 7th layer was used (p<0.005).
