Abstract(in English) | We measured the longitudinal accumulation profiles of the XT, using the commercial single-channel OTDR. The experimental result revealed that the XT between diagonal cores with the 2x2 square lattice layout equals to the square of the direct XT of the co-propagating lights between nearest neighboring cores. From the theoretical prediction, the XT between diagonal cores mainly consists of the indirect XT via nearest neighboring cores, and the direct XT between diagonal cores is trivial in the 2x2 square lattice layout. The indirect XT accumulation is quadratic linear scale, i.e., the indirect XT increases with 20 dB/decade in dB scale. However, it always lower than the direct XT between nearest neighboring cores. Consequently, these results strongly suggest that the bidirectional MCF transmissions suppress the XT. |
