[Invited Talk] Smart Radio and Beyond 5G

Abstract(in English) The IEICE Technical Committee on Smart Radio (TCSR) was established in 1999 as the Time-limited Technical Committee on Software Radio, and will celebrate its 25-th anniversary in 2024. Its major topic areas are not limited to software radio, but have expanded into a wide range of areas such as cognitive radio, heterogeneous radio networks, and wireless distributed networks. Some of the technologies that have been discussed in conferences at the TCSR over the years are being specifically considered for application to next-generation wireless systems, including beyond 5G (B5G). In this talk, we will look at smart radio technologies for B5G. In particular, the author will introduce ultra numerous connectivity technologies using space-time synchronization that the author's group is working on.
