Abstract(in English) Fiber filtration systems are being developed to treat wastewater by entangling and removing particles with fine fibers. Fluid simulation is used to improve the filtration performance, but it is necessary to calculate the fiber density and fiber orientation at each location from X-ray CT images of the device. Since conventional methods are insufficient for fiber orientation calculation, this paper proposes a new method using Fourier transform and principal component analysis. The method was evaluated on mini-sized fiber-filled cubes with uniform fiber orientation, and it was confirmed that the fiber orientation could be obtained with high accuracy.
