Hand Image Restoration Using a Diminished Reality Technique for Hand Tracking

Abstract(in English) Machine learning techniques have enabled highly accurate posture estimation from camera images. However, if the body is hidden by an object, the accuracy of the estimation is greatly reduced. In particular, hand posture estimation during work is frequently affected by the occlusion of the hand by an object. Therefore, we thought that existing posture estimation models could be used as they are if we could generate an image of the hand that is not hidden by an object by eliminating the object that hides the hand using diminished reality technology. Toward this goal, we construct a machine learning model that reconstructs the hand image by eliminating objects.
