Analysis of Video Media and Paralinguistic Expressions of Speakers in Tele-conference Services

Abstract(in English) In these days, spread of telework and prevention of infectious diseases have led to a rapid increase in demand for tele-conferencing. On the other hand, increase of Internet traffic has been concerned in recent years, and it is important to reduce the amount of Internet traffic during a tele-conference. However, Speaker's nonverbal information is missing in audio conferencing, so it is important to use audio conferencing and video conferencing appropriately depending on the meeting situation. In this study, we analyze the effects of the select of conferencing format on the interaction and aim to clarify the characteristics of tasks that are suitable for audio conferencing. In this paper, we focus on the transmission of paralinguistic information in the task, and we analyze the relationship between the select of conferencing formats and the frequency of paralinguistic information expression.
