Abstract(in English) Hydropower generation has been one of the main power resources in Japan. And it is drawing attention to the carbon neutral concept. Recently, the piecewise linear approximation technique is applied to hydro generation scheduling to handle its nonlinearity. However, it brings computational efficiency but also the residuals between the linearized function and the original nonlinear one. In this paper, we propose the eight discretization parameters for linearization, and reveal the trend of the relationship between the computational efficiency and the residuals, by using the approximation method proposed byGuedes et.al.
