Abstract(in English) | For over-1 Tb/s/λ-class transceivers, it is important to improve the ability to accurately compensate for IQ impairments occurring within transceivers. To address this, an 8×2 MIMO adaptive equalizer, which has a larger number of internal degrees of freedom (DOFs) for the signal impairment compensation than that of a conventional 2×2 MIMO adaptive equalizer, has been proposed. However, there is a trade-off between the number of DOFs and a tracking speed for dynamic polarization fluctuations occurring in the fiber transmission line, which hinders the practical application of the 8×2 MIMO adaptive equalizer. In this study, we propose a partially frozen MIMO adaptive equalizer in which unnecessary update of DOFs are frozen to improve tracking speed, and demonstrated it with 128 GBaud signals under high-speed polarization fluctuations of 11 Mrad/s, showing better performances than those of the conventional configurations. |
