[Short Paper] Throughput Analysis in GF-NOMA with Inter-Cell Interference for mMTC

Abstract(in English) This paper presents throughput in grant-free non-orthogonal multiple access (GF-NOMA) for massive machine-type communications over multiple cells. In GF-NOMA, each terminal autonomously selects a power resource, called a power level, to transmit a packet, and then, a base station decodes superposed packet signals at the same time-frequency resource by using the successive interference cancellation. The related works of GF-NOMA focused on the throughput in a single cell, and the throughput increased as the number of levels increased. However, in multi-cell environments, increasing the number of levels increases inter-cell interference. We analyze the inter-cell interference in multi-cell GF-NOMA and evaluate the throughput with this interference by simulation. Our simulation results highlighted that multi-cell GF-NOMA provided the peak throughput at seven levels or smaller and decreased the throughput below the single-cell one by 67% in a typical scenario.
