Extensions of Air Conditioning Optimization Guidance System for Improved Ventilation Instructions

Abstract(in English) Currently, we are developing the air conditioning optimization guidance system called AC-Guide. For saving energy and improving comfortableness, AC-Guide outputs the ON/OFF guidance of the air conditioner by comparing the discomfort index calculated from the measured temperature and humidity in a room. Besides, for reducing risks of infections of COVID-19, it outputs the ventilation guidance of doors and windows by comparing the measured CO2 density with the given threshold. Using web cameras, it checks the ventilation action by the guidance. In this paper, we extend AC-Guide for predicting the CO2 density in a near future by detecting the number of persons in the room using the indoor localization system called FILS15.4 that has been also developed in our group. First, we measure the CO2 density decreasing rate for each combination of opening the door and windows in the room, and find the best combination. Second, we measure the particulate amount and the noise in the room using the corresponding sensors, and analyze the relationship with the ventilation. We implement the web application system using Node.js for the user interface on a tablet in the room. Long-term evaluations of the accuracy and usability of the extended AC-Guide will be in future works.
