Phase compensation method in core-selective switch for few-mode multi-core fiber using spatial light modulator

Abstract(in English) In order to realize Dence SDM transmission using Few-Mode Multi-Core Fiber(FM-MCF), a switching device adapted to spatially multiplexed signals is required. We focused on spatial light modulator(SLM) as a device to realize ROADM by switching each core in FM-MCF. The problem has been the phase becomes random when switching is performed. In this study, we proposed a method to realize switching and phase compensation for each core by using two spatial light modulators, and confirmed the operation by simulation. As a result, we confirmed that switching and phase compensation of the mode-multiplexed signal light were achieved.
