Abstract(in English) | Optical Camera Communications (OCC) is a technology that provides a license-free communication channel that does not use radio waves. The rolling shutter mechanism is expected to improve the net data rate in OCC. However, in rolling shutter, there is a period of time between frames when no exposure is done, called the waiting time. Since signal reception stops during this period, signal loss occurs in continuous signal transmission. However, there has been no research focusing on this signal loss. Therefore, We proposes a symbol timing synchronization method for OCC using a rolling shutter camera. The transmitter sends a preamble for synchronization followed by a data signal, and the receiving camera calculates an additional wait time from the received preamble image to synchronize with the start timing of the data signal. The contribution of this work is the development of the first symbol timing synchronization technology for lossless signal transmission using a rolling shutter. We theoretically analyzed the limitations of the proposed method due to clock errors and evaluated its performance using actual equipment. |
