Design of terahertz vortex component made with polarization-independent metasurface with high refractive index and low reflectance

Abstract(in English) Multiplexing terahertz vortices with different topological charges would be a welcome contribution to enable high-capacity, ultra-high-speed wireless communications, including 6G communications. However, terahertz vortex components suitable for integration with terahertz continuous-wave (CW) sources are necessary to offer accessible devices in the terahertz waveband. In this report, we present measurements of two-dimensional intensity distribution maps for collimated terahertz waves radiated from a single RTD oscillating at 0.312 THz by a metalens antenna. We also present the design of a terahertz vortex component that converts plane waves to terahertz vortices in the 0.3-THz band consisting of 4-layer laminated polarization-independent metasurfaces with high refractive indices and low reflectance and verify terahertz vortices by simulations. We will measure the fabricated terahertz vortex component by the prepared experimental system. The designed terahertz vortex component with polarization-independent could be mounted on terahertz wave CW sources without angle adjustment.
