| 抄録(和) | 本研究では，音高変化が視覚的な運動方向の判断に及ぼす影響に着目し，日本語母語話者と中国語母語話者で影響の強さを比較することによって，感覚間協応における言語環境の役割を検討した。中国語には，語の意味が一つの音節内における音の高さ変化のパターンによって変わるという特徴があり，4種類のパターンがあることから四声と呼ばれている。そのため，中国語母語話者は音の高さの変化を視覚的なイメージと結びつけやすい可能性が考えられた。実験の結果，曖昧運動刺激の運動方向の判断は，同時に呈示される音高変化の方向に影響される形で変化した。一方で，日本語母語話者と中国語母語話者の間で影響の強さに違いは見られなかった。この結果は，言語における音高変化パターンの学習や使用経験が，音高変化と視覚的な運動の間の協応の形成に大きくは寄与しない可能性を示唆する。 |
| 抄録(英) | In this study, we focused on the effect of changing pitch of sounds on the judgment of visual motion direction, and examined the role of linguistic environment on crossmodal correspondences by comparing the strength of the effect between native Japanese and Mandarin speakers. Mandarin is known to have four tones, and the meaning of a word changes according to the tone. Therefore, it was hypothesized that native Mandarin speakers could easily associate changes in pitch with visual images. The results of the experiment showed that the direction of ambiguous motion accompanied by the ascending and descending pitch sound was more likely to be judged as an upward and downward, respectively. However, no difference was found in the strength of the influence between Japanese and Mandarin speakers. These results suggest that learning or experience with pitch change patterns in language less contributes to the correspondence between pitch change and visual motion. |
