A Study on Contrast Improvement Method by Multiple Scale Hue Conversion for Dichromats

Abstract(in English) Dichromats have difficulty distinguishing certain combinations of colors. To solve this problem, there is a method to improve contrast for dichromats by hue conversion. The authors previously proposed an extension of this existing method. Our method determines the amount of hue conversion according to the lightness of each pixel. This enables conversion for the combination of colors that are confused in dichromacy. In this study, we defined a quantitative evaluation index for contrast improvement and used it to set the parameter values of our method and compare it with an existing method.
