Extracting Standard Inter-area Laminar Projection Pattern of Isocortex

Abstract(in English) In the field of neuroscience, various laminar organization of isocortex (Laminar Organization) and inter-area laminar projection patterns of isocortex (Projection Pattern) based on anatomical knowledge have been proposed. In this paper, we determined Standard Laminar Organization of Isocortex (SLOI) by comparing Laminar Organization of previous studies, and extracted Standard Inter-area Laminar Projection Pattern of Isocortex (SILPP) by converting Projection Pattern of previous studies into a logical expression and using an algorithm related to logical operators and conjunctive normal forms. Using SILPP, we estimated the number of SILPP elements in isocortex of macaque. Ten SLOI elements were determined, and six FF components and five FB components were extracted from SILPP. SILPP will provide a framework for detailed and comprehensive integration of Projection Pattern.
