Optimization and geometric picture of pump current in stochastic models

Abstract(in English) In stochastic models, there is a phenomenon in which an oscillating periodic external field drives the flow in one direction. This phenomenon is called the pumping current. Its mathematical structure and applications have been studied because it is related to control in stochastic systems. However, there is a problem in that the flow decreases when the external field changes drastically. Although recent studies clarified that the geometric phases increase the flow, there is no study from the viewpoint of optimality. In this study, we attempt to derive the periodic external fields from an optimization perspective. We also discussed the characteristics of the derived external fields from a geometric viewpoint.
