Effect of Wall Vibration Amplitude on Vibrating Intrinsic Reverberation Chamber Characteristics

Abstract(in English) The reverberation chamber (RVC) method using a reverberation chamber that can generate random electromagnetic fields is used for electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) test evaluations of electrical and electronic equipment and systems. Although the mechanical stirring type is generally the mainstream, a vibrating intrinsic reverberation chamber (VIRC), which is based upon an RF shielding tent made of flexible conductive fabric, is attracting attention because it is expected to be less expensive and to realize in-situ testing. In this paper, we have present a VIRC configuration and measured its basic characteristics (number of independent samples, goodness of fit to Rayleigh distribution, and spatial field uniformity) according to the wall vibration amplitude as stirring conditions. The measurement results contribute to derive a guideline for VIRC design.
