Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In recent years, drones have advanced rapidly and are widely used in society. However, along with their popular use, there is concern that drones are used for crime and terrorism. Therefore, demand for anti-drone systems is growing to be able to detect, identify and jam drones. We have previously proposed a 2D imaging method of a drone using a millimeter-wave (mmW) multi-input and multi-output (MIMO) radar for drone detection and identification. In this paper, we propose a method for detecting the variation of radar echo from a propeller, which is effective for identifying drones, by time-series analysis of radar images, and experimentally investigate its effectiveness. Furthermore, we also propose a method to estimate the propeller rotation speed from these fluctuations. Measurement experiments were conducted for four drone models (Matrice 600, Phantom 3, Mavic pro, Mavic mini) with different sizes and shapes.
