Turning Ego-vehicle Speed Estimation on Spectral Analysis using Millimeter-wave MIMO Radar

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a method of ego-vehicle speed estimation using a millimeter-wave MIMO radar, and we also discuss the estimation of turning. A conventional method using the ego-vehicle speed spectrum (hereafter, VS spectrum) occurs fatal errors by some scattered peaks on the VS spectrum when a vehicle turns. The proposed method estimates a VS spectrum with the ego vehicle yaw rate. The 2D VS spectrum had a peak of ego-vehicle speed, and the yaw rate estimates the ego-vehicle speed on turning. The estimated results of experiments were compared with those of the in-vehicle sensor and conventional method.
