| Abstract(in English) | To prevent vehicles entering into warning level crossings, effectiveness of indicating level crossings and noticing their status in advance is confirmed by an experiment using driving simulator. Thus, we propose a level crossing status information system using the following mechanisms: (i) transmitting its status and position from ground equipment periodically and (ii) determining distance from the level crossing and direction of cars and warning drivers when their cars approach 120m in front of the level crossing. We also verify that the proposed system presents level crossing status information for approaching car at the prescribed distance. |
