Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | This study proposes a haptic glove, an interface for remote two-way communication with deaf-blind people and evaluates the system of the implemented haptic glove in different languages to develop a human interface to support the independence of deaf-blind people. The proposed communication method is based on Malossi type alphabet input/output using a haptic glove composed of a non-woven fabric with electrical contacts inside, which consists of a tactile character recognition mechanism in which character information is transmitted by tapping and the returned character information is converted into piezo vibration. It proposes an input method that reduces the complexity of character spelling and a receiving method located at the fingertips, which are rich in sensory organs. The system evaluation method for remote bidirectional communication is to verify the effectiveness of the proposal by experimenting with the subject's own transmission of character information and its feedback recognition, as well as with conversations between multiple subjects in which both parties use haptic gloves. |
