Abstract(in English) | With the development of automated driving systems, the day when autonomous driving vehicles and non-autonomous driving vehicles drive on the same road is no longer a distant future. In such a mixed traffic environment, it is necessary to realize a safe, secure, and comfortable traffic environment through the coordination of vehicles and traffic infrastructure. V2X communications are one of the fundamental technologies for connected and automated driving systems. However, due to uncertainties in radio propagation characteristics caused by mobility, there is an urgent need for measures to guarantee the reliability of communications. In this study, we propose V2X communications with a radio environment database, which enables highly accurate estimation of radio propagation using actual observation data, and a multi-RAT scheme, which ensures communication redundancy by combining different radio access technologies (RATs) such as frequency bands and communication methods. In the multi-RAT scheme, the RAT to be used is generally selected based on the instantaneous observation values, which may not properly select the stable RAT when local fluctuations occur. Therefore, by using the radio environment database to estimate the radio environment between the departure and the destination, it is possible to prevent the RAT from switching for realizing stable communication. |
