Performance Evaluations of LiDAR-based Indoor Localization and Visualization System using LiDAR SLAM and 3D Point Clouds

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we extend our previous 2D LiDAR-based indoor localization system into the 3D system, enabling us to estimate and visualize the user’s position on 3D point cloud space. First, we capture the 3D space of the building floor at Waseda University and represent the 3D space using point clouds. Then, we estimate and visualize the user’s position using our system and 3D point cloud space. Through the performance evaluations of our system, the result confirms that the system achieves accurate indoor localization in the 3D space. In addition, we evaluate our system’s processing time and network delay via local 5G.
