Abstract(in English) | All-Photonics Network (APN) aims at a large-capacity, low-latency, and low-energy-consumption network infrastructure by providing direct optical paths between any two locations without electrical termination. On the other hand, a path transmission performance monitoring technique of APN is required without any electrical termination because the electrical terminals in conventional networks acquire the monitoring data, such as transmission performance of optical signals. In this report, we propose a method of acquiring the transmission signal characteristics while transmitting the signal by using all-optical inter-band wavelength converter (AO-WC). Furthermore, evaluating the signal qualities of the transmission signal and monitoring signal output from a PPLN-based AO-WC, we show that the proposed method can monitor the transmission qualities without excessive signal degradation. |
