Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Sentences in 6 sets of student's essay and comments were analysed in order to determine a possibility of automated acoring for essay assessment and factor scores of critical thinking disposition (CTD) which were evaluated during a university class. An automated essay scoring procedure using a machine learning technique (BERT) was applied to predict ability of writing and CTD factor scores. In the results, the procedure can estimate accurately essay and comment assessment scores from these texts, however, the prediction for CTD factor scores needs further improvements.
