Abstract(in English) Distributed strain and temperature sensing using optical fiber as a sensor is expected to be applied to applications such as structural health monitoring of large structures and abnormality monitoring during plant operation. We made a prototype of a Brillouin Optical Correlation Domain Reflectometry (BOCDR) system using a homodyne receiver to shift the frequency band of the optical receiver output signal to the baseband. A function for suppressing the background light spectrum, which occurs in the correlation domain method, applying a moving average to the measured Brillouin gain spectrum (BGS) is implemented to the prototype. A spatial resolution of 10 cm with an RMS strain error of 36.1 micro epsilon at a distance of 100 m was achieved. Thanks to the suppression function, it was able to measure a strain of 5400 micro epsilon.
