Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As a candidate for high capacity optical links for data center interconnect, direct-detection self coherent heterodyne reception aided by Kramers-Kronig (KK) relation has been extensively investigated. In this paper, we numerically study real time implementation of Hilbert transform, which is necessary for KK processing. Based on numerical simulations, we studied the performance of the two implementations: one is frequency-domain implementation using overlap FFT, and the other is time-domain implementation using an FIR filter. Comparing the results with that obtained through off-line calculation using ideal Hilbert transform, both implementations provided with the suffcient data points can offer the similar performance to the ideal one. Meanwhile, it is also found that the time-domain implementation can offer similar performance with much less circuit complexity.
