Experimental Demonstration of Quantum Deliberate Signal Randomization for Y-00 Quantum Noise Stream Cipher

Abstract(in English) Deliberate signal randomization (DSR) driven by quantum random numbers is proposed for enhancing security. PSK Y-00 cipher with the quantum DSR (QDSR) is demonstrated at 5 Gb/s, indicating secure transmission is achievable at high optical powers. The QDSR is applied to 10-Gb/s dual polarization BPSK Y-00 cipher. The cipher is successfully transmitted in the 400-km optical fiber installed on our campus. The security measure of the noise masking number is kept constant and high, almost independent of the signal power in the system. Such feature can make the design of Y-00 cipher optical fiber communication systems more flexible.
