Consideration on Bandwidth Estimation for HTTP-based Adaptive Live Streaming

Abstract(in English) CMAF (Common Media Application Format), which enables low-latency live streaming by dividing video segments into smaller chunks, collects a lot of attention. CMAF has a problem of underestimating network bandwidth due to the idle times between chunks. In this paper, we evaluate the accuracy of network bandwidth estimation for HTTP adaptive live streaming by simulations. Based on the evaluation results, the methods to improve the accuracy of bandwidth estimation are discussed.
