4-core 600-km-length MCF Drawn from Single Preform

Abstract(in English) This report presents the details of our successful production of a 4-core MCF, which has 125-μm cladding and more than 600 km length. This is the champion data for the length of MCF drawn from a 625-km-size preform. Its optical characteristics comply with ITU-T G.657.A1. From the results of a proof strength test at 1%, breaking times is two, the frequency of breaking fiber was 0.003 times/km. The average and standard deviation of the core misalignment δ were calculated to be 0.08 μm and 0.06 μm, respectively.
