Abstract(in English) | This paper presents a triple-band varactor-loaded single-layer miniaturized multi-ring microstrip antenna (MR-MSA) with straight shorted elements. A varactor-loaded single-layer shorted MR-MSA fed by an L-probe has been proposed as a miniaturized frequency-tunable multiband planar antenna. In this antenna, the ring patches are divided into two separated elements by shorted vias, respectively. Furthermore, one of the two separated elements of each patch can be removed, and then further miniaturization of the antenna can be achieved. In order to reduce cross polarization of the miniaturized MR-MSA, linear shorted radiation patches are arranged on both sides of the feeding via of an L-probe with strip lines on the both directions. In this paper, a triple-band varactor-loaded single-layer miniaturized MR-MSA fed by an L-probe with three linear shorted elements on the both sides of the L-probe is proposed. The measured frequency-tunable performance as well as the radiation properties of the proposed antenna are presented. |
