Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In competitive sports where strategy is important, effective play and tactics at the moment of change in degree of dominance have been studied. This study aims to realize the measurement of shot reaction time of badminton players based on time-series 3D skeletal information, and to clarify effective plays and tactics in situations where dominance changes by analyzing the measured reaction time. In the proposed method, shot reaction time is estimated using the motion information of a badminton player. Short-term principal component analysis is applied to the time-series 3D skeletal information of the athlete to extract information useful for motion analysis. Hit time and reaction time are detected by finding extrema of the first and second principal component scores. The reaction time to the shot is estimated as the time from the hit frame to the reaction frame. We applied the proposed method to 3D skeletal information of a badminton player and confirmed that the reaction time can be estimated.
