Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The number of Internet of things (IoT) has been rapidly increasing and is expected to revolutionize industries and people's lives in the future. This increases the chances of transmitting confidential information, and thus, the need to enhance the security of wireless communications is becoming more and more important. One solution to this problem is physical layer security (PLS) using the randomness of the wireless channel. We have proposed chaos modulation as one of the PLS methods. While chaos modulation can obtain a channel coding gain, it requires a large amount of demodulation complexities. We focused on the coupling of chaos modulation and polar codes, and proposed a method to exploit frozen bits to reduce demodulation operations by taking advantage of the channel polarization of polar codes. However, the conventional method does not perform turbo decoding between the chaos demodulator and polar decoder, leaving room for improvement. In this paper, we propose a new method to increase the system gain by introducing a turbo decoding. We show that the proposed method improves the performance by about 1.4 dB at BLER=10-3 with a code length of 512 and a coding rate of 0.25 compared to the conventional method. We also clarify the effective region of the proposed method by analyzing the characteristics when the code length and coding rate are changed.
