Abstract(in English) | In train operation systems, the introduction of systems that make use of radio communications, such as communication-based train control systems that use radio communications between ground and on-board equipment, is increasing. Information transmission had been mainly carried out on private networks operated by railway operators, but in recent years there are growing expectations for the use of public communication networks to reduce equipment and reduce maintenance. However, it is difficult to replace the private radio communication with the public communication network, because the train operation systems have been designed to achieve both safety and punctuality by using devices and functions based on the private communication network. Thus, the authors have proposed the concept of designing train control systems to apply public communication networks, and an equipment configuration for safety train operation with public communication networks. In the paper, we introduce research on the application of public communication networks to train operation systems that realize the safe operation of railways. |
