| Abstract(in English) | In Japan, an increase in the number of cases of suffocation and pneumonia caused by aspiration is expected. Therefore, dealing with aspiration in the elderly persons is an important issue. And, many elderly persons who use wheelchairs on a daily basis have hunch backs. The elderly persons with hunch backs are at increased risk of aspiration caused by posture. Therefore, we quantitatively measured the degree of the hunch back by using the shape tape, as part of a study to reduce the risk of aspiration in the elderly persons. The results showed the validity and challenges of using shape tape to measure hunch back. |
