Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The worldwide pandemic of coronavirus infection has led to the proposal and social implementation of various preventive measures against viral infections. It is known that ultraviolet (UV) lights act on viruses to inactivation them, and devices equipped with a light source and irradiated with UV lights are used in a variety of situations. We have proposed the "Fivery?" technology, which delivers UV lights using optical fibers to places and scenes where it has been difficult to irradiate UV lights directly and inactivate viruses, utilizing the optical communication technology we have developed so far, and have been studying the technology. In this lecture, we introduce the research and development status of Fivery?.
