Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is important to early provide evacuation notifications to prevent residents from landslide disaster. To provide appropriate notifications, the risk of the landslide disaster should be observed correctly. Therefore, we are trying to develop a sensor network that can detect precursor phenomena of landslides using a low-cost LPWA (Low Power Wide Area). Since observation devices in mountainous areas are based on unstable power sources such as solar power generation and batteries, it is necessary to suppress power consumption by appropriate scheduling of sending sensor data for long-term operation. In order to send sensor data with appropriate scheduling, it is effective to change the sending interval adapting to the remaining battery power. Conventional methods use two-steps control based on the soil water index, which may not be appropriately controlled in response to changes in weather conditions. In this study, we investigated a method to control the sleep time steplessly based on the soil water index and the remaining battery level, and examined whether the method could cope with continuous weather changes by adjusting parameters.
